When to Seek Help
A Durham police officer and a mental health clinician can work together to help and support your family after an experience of violence or other trauma. The officer and clinician can offer convenient, rapid assistance to help with safety planning, feeling secure, and understanding reactions that you or your children may be having. The NCCRI team can also help with other services, including:
  • Therapy for you and/or your children
  • Safety planning
  • Information related to legal matters
  • Referral to a variety of community resources, such as those for domestic violence, education, and juvenile justice
See our Resources & Helpful Links page to access names and numbers of programs that can be helpful
